Tony Goode: Marketing military skills for civilian jobs

Check out the latest episode on Encore by Boomerswork on 105.9 Seaside FM hosted by Costas Halavrezos!

This week, we’ll discuss the challenges that face military personnel looking to move into the civilian workforce. Sometimes the skills and experience that one acquires from years of military service can be hard for employers to understand and difficult to explain in a resume. Tony has advice on how to market yourself for any military personnel looking to retire or make that career change.

Tony retired after 30 years of commissioned service in the Canadian Navy. During that time he commanded a number of warships as well as Training Group Pacific, the Fourth Destroyer Squadron and Royal Roads Military College. After retirement he was recruited by Litton Systems Canada to act as the Project Director for the Tribal Class update Programme. Today he is an associate consultant with CFN Consultants, a defence consulting company. He is also vice-president for Business Development for the Aerospace and Defence Industries of Nova Scotia.

Enjoy the show and be sure to join us next week for another new episode of Encore by Boomerswork.
